Our overall aim of our business is to create a warm welcome and an amazing holiday for all our guests and as a single traveller you are no exception. Many of our customers are single travellers and are most welcome to our walking groups with the group leader and with all our other guests. Our guests all have a common passion for walking.

Yes, unfortunately the country inns and guest houses we use, do charge single room supplements at £20 per person per night.

Will I be fit enough to join the walk?

Almost everybody can enjoy our walking holidays. Our routes are graded, easy, moderate and strenuous and therefore you can assess the level that you are capable of and pick the walk that best suits you. Generally all our walks have been designed for you to appreciate the wonderful surroundings with plenty of time to reach the destination each day. If there is a specific walk that you would like to do quicker or slower than planned, for example by altering the time spent to incorporate rest days, please contact us to discuss your requirements. A general amount of everyday fitness is required for most holidays, however if for example you are undertaking a 14 day hike with high miles per day, a level of training may be necessary depending on your fitness levels.

How long are the walks each day?

All walks both self guided and guided advise on the number of miles to be walked each day and the grading of each section. Our routes are all different and offer a range of walks for different levels of walkers. They can range from 5 miles up to 21 miles and terrains can differ from hills and vales to flat sea scapes. The number of miles planned each day can be altered to your personal requirements and rest days can be incorporated if required. Please do not hesitate to contact for changes.

What do we do if it rains?

Usually on even the rainiest of days the sky clears for at least part of the day. Weather very rarely interrupts your itinerary and usually only for very adverse weather conditions that would make walking dangerous. If this happens or you are unhappy to walk in rainy conditions on guided walks we can suggest alternative sight seeing options. We provide a guide for what to bring for all weather conditions.

Can I extend my holiday?

We can offer extra nights accommodation at the start or end of your holiday. In many instances there will be something extra that you will want to see or experience whilst on your holiday. Please contact for details.

How do I travel to the start and end of the walk?

We will send out an information pack as a response to your booking that will give personal location advice on travel options to the start and at the end of your walk.

We will advise on long stay car parks and on public transport to the start of your walk by train, bus or taxi. Train and flight information to the destination area is also available in the booklet.

Depending on the weather a good range of waterproofs, warm clothes and sun hats are needed at different times throughout the year and sometimes all are needed on the same walk. We supply a guide of what to bring prior to your holiday.

The nights accommodation will include a breakfast which is usually a delicious English breakfast that will set you up for the days walk ahead. Vegetarian and lighter options are available throughout.
